LECCE

Lecce is the Baroque city par excellence, the perfect destination for all those who love art. Here you can admire beautiful treasures such as the Cathedral, the Bishop’s Palace or the Seminary Palace, as well as some churches such as Santa Maria delle Grazie or San Giuseppe, and the Castle of Charles V.  At the end of the evening, you can’t miss going to Piazza Sant’Oronzo, continuing to admire the surrounding beauty while listening to good music or sipping a drink.

OTRANTO

Otranto is one of the most famous towns in Salento, a beautiful village whose historic centre has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. It is full of narrow streets with white houses and many buildings that bear witness to the dominations that have taken place over time. The Aragonese Castle and the small Byzantine church of San Pietro are really fascinating.

GALLIPOLI

Gallipoli is the perfect destination for summer holidays, a mix of relaxation and fun for the whole family, for a couple or for some friends. The beaches are a real spectacle, which is why they are taken by storm by so many tourists every year: Punta della Suina, Baia verde, Rivabella, Lido Conchiglie and many others.

The historical centre is really suggestive with its churches and its historical buildings such as the Castle or the Basilica of Sant ‘Agata.

PORTO CESAREO

Porto Cesareo is a very famous seaside resort in Salento that, with its white sandy beaches and its crystal-clear waters, attracts many people in summer. Its historic centre is full of bars and restaurants where you can enjoy typical specialties and tasty fish dishes. We recommend you also a visit to the Museum of Marine Biology, which houses interesting collections of marine species and algae, or the Rabbit Island, an unspoilt area for fun and relaxation in the sun.

SPECCHIA

One of the most beautiful villages in Salento is Specchia, whose Risoli castle in the square “Piazza del Popolo” is one of its symbols. The old town is full of things to explore, but so is the underground street in which there are four ancient hypogea that were once used as oil mills. They can be visited in order to discover how in ancient times the “green gold”, the real wealth of the area, was produced. It is also possible to visit the Mother Church dedicated to the Blessed Virgin from 1500 and the Convent of the Black Franciscans.

SANTA MARIA DI LEUCA

Near the territory known as the ‘heel of Apulia’ there is the beautiful town of Santa Maria di Leuca, a land that for years has been dominated by different civilizations: Phoenicians, Greeks, Messapians, pirates and Turks. According to an ancient legend, the cathedral of Finibus Terrae is the one through which St Peter arrived after his journey to Palestine. He consecrated the church to Christianity as, many years earlier, the temple was dedicated to Minerva. The beaches of Santa Maria di Leuca are also of inestimable beauty, which is why we must mention Ciolo, Torre Vado and Pescoluse.
